Permanent Makeup (PMU)
What is Permanent Makeup?
Permanent Makeup is a form of cosmetic tattooing. These services are intended to enhance one’s features by filling in sparse eyebrows, defining the eyes with lash line enhancement, or complimenting the appearance of one’s lips.
How does it work?
Pigment is applied to the designated area by the use of a tattoo machine or a manual device. Numbing is applied to the designated area but may vary by type and duration depending on the procedure. As the procedure is in progress the Licensed Professional will clean and check the treated area to ensure the deposit of pigment is occurring. Once the treatment is completed the area will be cleaned and the client will review the final results.
What appointments or steps are required?
1. Consultation
The licensed professional will do an initial consultation with the client to determine if Permanent Makeup is the right fit for their needs. Not all individuals will qualify for such services, therefore, a live consultation is required. If the client is a good candidate for the service an appointment is scheduled to move forward. The Client will receive paperwork advising pre-procedure instructions as well as required forms at the time of the procedure appointment.
2. Procedure Appointment
The Client will arrive for the procedure appointment with the applicable paperwork completed and signed. The client will enter into a sterilized room where they will be prepped for the procedure. The client will review and approve a color for the procedure. x The Licensed Professional will complete facial mapping for the designated work area being treated (if required). The client will review and approve the design. The Licensed Professional will complete the cosmetic tattooing (Numbing maybe used during the process of the cosmetic tattooing). The client will be provided after care instructions and an after-care ointment to aid in the healing process. Before and after pictures will be taken at each appointment.
3. Touch Up Appointment
This appointment is scheduled approximately 4-6 weeks after the initial procedure. This appointment is to make any refinements or enhancements to the designated area.
4. Color Refresh
An annual consultation should be scheduled to determine if a color refresh is needed. A color refresh is designed to rejuvenate the treated area as the color may fade. A required color refresh can vary for each individual from once a year up to 3 years, this is why an annual consultation should be scheduled to determine if a color refresh is needed.
